The manufacturing process involved here can be
explained simply and for all industries by dividing
it into three basic steps.
Dry sand preparation:
Defined mineral raw materials (clay, sand, chalk,
aluminium oxide etc.) that are either synthetic
or extracted from natural deposits are mixed with
our binding agents or floating agents, sometimes
also with platicising agents, lubricants or releasing
agents. Before water is added the binders can
be pre-mixed dry with the powdery mineral raw
materials or the binders can be used in their
dissolved form.

Depending on the industry and water content, the
resulting mixture takes the form of paste, filling,
mortar, plaster or paint and is further processed
accordingly.
Forming:
Depending on the area of application, the mixture
forms by coating, spraying, casting or extruding.
Forming may already lead to the final product
(a painted or plastered wall), to intermediate
products (ceramic green bodies) or a base material
for forming processes (spray granules).
